Could I get a copy of the Airbrake schematic/layout...
as well, please?
bobsimpsn@gmail.com.
I'd like to build one of these, also.
Thanks in advance.

Re: DIY Airbrake...
This originally was to be an Airbrake w/out a rheostat but I found one in my
parts drawer.
The fan isn't hooked up yet. I'm waiting for the DC jax and if that's a noise
maker I'll wire in a typical 9V connector.

Re: DIY Airbrake...
Thanks Ron.
I fetish those Switchcraft jax covers with what borders the unhealthy.
Remember those wee ones I found when you and I were on the hunt? I
couldn't justify buying those.
Vertically mounted jax seem to be the gaping maw that all manner of
detritus will occupy and those little spring loaded toilet seats snap shut with report.
I don't get to use 'em enough. Certainly not for lack of trying.

Are those some of your pedals? Bitchin' graphics....
I'll just have to settle for regular old Switchcraft jacks!

Re: DIY Airbrake...
As a result of M Fowler's issues with the rotary Lorlin switch numbering I have redone the layout to match the actual numbers on the switch. I have also added some notes on the drawing regarding the mounting brackets. Plus, I have created and actual schematic of the unit to help convey the functionality of it. I hope this helps future builders.

Re: DIY Airbrake...
Barry,
Thanks for your layouts. I got mine working after I understood how the switch is divided into sectors and forget about the number system as it doesn't matter.

Yep, two separate poles each with 6 possible positions. It's a pretty simple device once you look closely at it.M Fowler wrote:Barry,

Re: DIY Airbrake...
I ordered the wrong phone jacks (with 3 pins), can I still use them if I just don't use the middle pin?

Re: DIY Airbrake...
Zephody-What's "the middle pin"? Is it the lug to the shorting jack?
Yeah, you should be ok with the simplest mono jax. AFAIK.
The jax just need to share a direct ground connection.
Is that a plastic housing that contains your jack parts?
You probably should swing with Neutrik or Switchcraft since those products can sustain repeated plugging & unplugging over 1000's of cycles. The last thing your tube amp needs to see is a catastrophic failure such as a short or worse.
NG.
