... in the usual places where one might stick a ww - output tubes, power string? And while we are at it - on the power tube screen grids? Do 2W cc's have any advantage over MOs, CFs, WW, especially on power tube G2?
I know all those old, ubiquitous, sandbox types weren't non-inductive and were fine. But, as I must order up some parts I'm just curious if it is at least theoretically better.
Or, all good, don't worry, be happy?

Re: Do Non-Inductive WW Resistors Matter In Git Amps?
I'm thinking that non inductive resistors are good at high impedance places that don't have high voltages across them like the grids. (read that on one of the good sites around here, don't remember which one) Not sure about G2 though since they aren't so far from AC ground. I'll be watching for a good answer to that...
Re: Do Non-Inductive WW Resistors Matter In Git Amps?
IIRC, the amount of inductance in a WW is so small that it doesn't really make any difference in an audio frequency amp.
Re: Do Non-Inductive WW Resistors Matter In Git Amps?
Aren't most if not all wire wound resistors inductive due to the nature of their construction?

Re: Do Non-Inductive WW Resistors Matter In Git Amps?
No. Noninductive ww resistors are made using bifilar winding or 2-layered winding with 2nd layer wound in opposite direction to the 1st.Structo wrote:Aren't most if not all wire wound resistors inductive due to the nature of their construction?

That's what I was thinking, although I've never gone and measured how much inductance they have.Firestorm wrote:IIRC, the amount of inductance in a WW is so small that it doesn't really make any difference in an audio frequency amp.
