Yes you should. I know that some will disagree, but the casters are always unstable - the amp may roll alone or worse : fall front or back - I have seen that and serviced several "caster-fallen" amps : a real pity...
Put it on its original big rubber feets, offer him a padded cover (1/2" damping) if you sometimes use it outside home, and lift it, handle it... Yes, it's heavy, I know, but it is way more safe than rolling it on the street ground macadam which gives very bad vibrations to all the amp and his tubes. Moreover, if you have to walk through stairs with your amp (as often), any casters are completely useless. Trust me, casters are less practical than it seems on this kind of amp... It would be better to use a trucker chariot (a "diable" in French) with inflated wheels, some of them are cheap and foldable (I am thinking to buy one next).
My MKIIA in Hardwood version + EVM12L + FSW and matching cables, loaded in its flycase "lite", weights 43,5kg (96lbs).
My MKIIA in Tolex version + Eminence ME12-100 PE8 + FSW and matching cables, protected by its damping cover, weights 22,5kg (50lbs).
I am in a big Soul / Rhythm'n'Blues / 70's band where we have the chance to have kind and tough young musician guys who gently take care and carry my amp for me... Nice...
They prefer to carry it in the flycase, no matter the weight, because its more protected and most of all they carry it by
two guys. In the Tolex version, I can afford to carry it by myself if needed (for how long again

?)...

hey thanks again for all that great info! so what would be the typical known issues? in otherwords would I know if the casters caused harm to the amp? the wheels seem like they seen better days? there somewhat torn? I took the whole thing apart and did not noticed any issues? like loose parts. I have taken the advice to remove them, my amp sits on its 4 rubber feet; which are brand new, since they were never used. yes this things are heavy; its nice to have helpers, especially for the hundred pounders! well thanks again! really appreciate the insight!
