Mike Zaite might jump in here to help talk about his amp I hope.

The original didn't have the boost switch I believe and the next generation the RxES came with toggle switch boost and later to foot switch.

Doc noted on previous post:

The RX has a full EQ and a EF-86 as a recovery stage. The 3 dB boost runs on the EF-86, added by-pass cap to the cathode, for a nice FS lead boost. It uses negative feedback which keeps the amp tight great for humbuckers. Also it uses a split load cathode bias so two differant pairs of EL-84's can be installed.

ya, I read that old review. I'm guessing a souped up plexi circuit with el84's and conjunctive filtering like the ghia. The expand switch I would guess adds a bypass cap. the old rx

1/2 V1 is used like the Liverpool then TMB, volume into EF86 V2.

The rest is like an AC30 or Liverpool. I don't see any conjunctive filter.

That's what I reckon the new ES prescription is like. But the old prescription doesn't have an EF86, just 3 x 12AX7s

OK I see that old one now, it has a DPDT switch off the volume control like the Liverpool wired like Colossal posted rather then TW style, 12Ax7 v2 full tone stack a spdt switching out large looking cap probably still 25uf

This is not split load bias like new ones either.

Dr. Z, I know what you are going thru as I have End Stage Renal failure also. The doctors are doing a wonderful job of keeping me alive day by day. I have had a few close calls but just try to live each day to the fullest. I build amps to take my mind off of my medical situation. My father is borderline with the onset of Renal Failure. My prayers will be with you and your Dad
