Bass amp tone stack mods: Clip

Post by Bob-I »

After all the assistance I received on the tone stack mods, I recorded a clip to show the results.

I used my fretless P-Bass type bass. My friend Dave Wendler did the finish and installed a pair of piezo elements under the bridge. There's a blend knob to blend the piezo's with the p-bass PU, really effective.

I started with the tone's on 0, list to the narriation. It's recorded with an Alesis ProTrack direct to the iPod. No post processing was used other than raising the level of my voice.

What's missing here? Either folks are like... meh  or they're like ... yuck...

Either way I'd like to know what folks think of the tonality.

I think it sounds awesome.
I am a bit confused though. What bass amp was it that you modded?

Bob,

I missed the fact there was a mp3, I'm bad.

Sounded good I like it right before the blend and the blend. I think I prefered before the blend.

I like that piezo tone alone, but it's a bit thin in the mix. A little blend of the magnetic PU fills out the bottom end. What you "hear" in the nmix is more of the piezo but what you feel is the mag. Very cool concept.

Thx for listening.
