Fuse for DMM
I have a Amprobe 35XP-A that needs a fuse. It takes a 2A 1000V. I called Ace Hardawre and Radio Shack, they do not carry any fuses over 250 volts. Test Path has them at $5.00 for a 2 pack, plus $10.00 for shipping. So it is about 15 bux for 2 fuses.
Where do you guys get a fuse like that when you need it?
Thank You

shipping is usually based on a flat rate up to a certain weight or size. try combining the fuses into a purchase with other parts to get more for your $ or maybe just more fuses

Try local Residentual Electrical Wholesale distributor or Grainger if you have one. They all carry replacement DMM fuses.

Half of the stuff I have now is because I needed a resistor I did not have, or some other part that cost $3.00. So to get those single items I "combined" the order with a bunch of other things, just to make myself feel better.

I think Mark Fowler is on the right track. Your local electrical supply house might be a good source, places like Tri-State Electric. I don't know what you've got in your neck of the woods. Maybe call up an electrical contractor and ask for a suggestion. You might be surprised what you find out.
It won't be cheap, but there won't be any shipping charge. We all go through this with the shipping. The days of going down to the corner store to buy anything are long gone.

My wife works at a Electric Wholesale place and that is why I know they stock things like the DMM fuses.
Any supply house that supplies electrical products to the electricians and HVAC guys.

Can I get a ruling from the judges please?
It's funny you should say Fluke, that is how I found out I snapped the fuse in my Amprobe. I was using the Fluke as a volt meter and the Amprobe as an amp meter. I put 10 volts across a 100 ohm resistor, but I did not read any current. So I reversed the duty of the meters. The Amprobe showed 10 volts OK and the Fluke read 100MA.
I thought there was something wrong with the Amprobe. I did not know some of the meter functions would still operate, even with a bad fuse. This is the first time I lost a fuse in a meter. I just ASSUMED if the fuse was bad that the meter would not work. But I was wrong.
Thanks again for all the help. TAG has been good to me, and I appreciate it.
Thank You

Perhaps it was your response to his post trying to help you.
Emotions are hard to translate on a keyboard and if a sarcastic answer is given it helps if you put a smiley by it so the person knows you're kidding.

Good Heavens, I know he was kidding, and I did put a embarrassed smiley on my post. Then I said "Thank You" 3 times in response to his free fuse from Fluke comment. It has all been said with respect and good humor as far as I am concerned.Structo wrote:Perhaps it was your response to his post trying to help you.
