What would you do with it? Dumble is a registered trademark...

I have filed a report at Ebay. The seller in question is a domain pirate, violating the rights of Alexander Dumble IMHO. So lets stop him.

Delicious irony....bluesfendermanblues wrote:I have filed a report at Ebay. The seller in question is a domain pirate, violating the rights of Alexander Dumble IMHO.

...considering that this is a Dumble-centric forum filled with all of us sinners dedicated to sharing, and profiting from the piracy and cloning of Alexander Dumble's creations...
So, given your argument about rights and piracy...
Is this forum not also violating his intellectual property and perhaps, his rights?
- On a "golden rule" level....I submit my opinion...yes, maybe, kind of, sort of.
But, it isn't going to stop you, me, or any of us on this forum from ceasing the sharing and proliferation of info.
Dumble domain name "piracy"...direct Dumble amp cloning...strange bedfellows, no?
Now back to our regularly scheduled de-gooping and circuit analysis.

...not that there is anything wrong with that...

However, I havent yet come across anybody on this forum making 1:1 clones of Dumble amps, in order to sell these on Ebay as orginal Dumble amps, but I could be wrong.
Re: d*mble.com for sale...
This is too funny. What would a buyer of that domain name hope to get in return after spending 250k?

At one time or another I've privately owned, released and or sold several domain names. It is not necessarily a violation, but that's what judges and lawyers are for.bluesfendermanblues wrote:I have filed a report at Ebay. I don't think I was a pirate, but back in 91/92' I had some pretty farfetched ideas that these networks had some commercial potential and boy was I wrong!
I'm I the only one that remembers how long it took to download "files" from a local bulletin board using 300 and 1200 baud modems?
Al Gore might have invented in the internet, but I actually built it.
Nevertheless, I did see the listing a few days ago and wondered who in the HELL would pay 250K, much less even 50K for it.
