Dear Dana

Perhaps the O'Connor thing would be a good addition to all Liverpool clones. It all depends on how transparent the circuit will work in comparision to the alternatives that you mentioned.

As a quickstart in powerscaling my Liverpool Clone I put two 15v Zeners on the PT centertap last evening, lowering B+ by 30v. I gues that would be equivalent to scaling the whole amp. Measured poweroutput on the onset of distortion was 18w. How did it sound?
Well, the sound itself was still there but the excellent touch responsiveness was utterly gone! No more clean sound on guitar volume set to 3 with searing distortion on 10  . I guess powerscaling Trainwrecks messes to much with the circuit to keep their virtues!
