Tonebone amp switcher issue/opinions wanted

A friend of mine just bought a Tonebone amp switcher for SS/Tube amps. I didn't even know they made one for one SS and one tube amp.

Both heads he's using have built in effects, delay and reverb especally, Vetta and a H&K Switchmaster.

Tonebone told him to NOT use the delays in the amps because the delay can keep the amp producing output after switching it out. The concern is that the output section will still be producing output while on a small load resistor that may not handle the load.

The question is how dangerous is this. The Vetta with it's SS output shouldn't be an issue at all, but the H&K could be.

it depends on how much strain is being put on the transformer by exceeding the dummy resistor and not having a load. i know that isn't a lot of help but if it's played at a lower volume it's less of an issue if it's loader then it becomes more of a concern. as it passes the wattage rating of the resistive load the extra energy is disapated in the transformer or you run the risk of buring the dummy load open and create serious problems.
it could work for this show and die the next....
basically you are playing with fire it's the same reason you don't play and amp with out a speaker plugged in. preferrably the proper ohm load!

Thx for the reply, that was my thought too. With 2-3 echo trails I'd doubt if they'll be an issue, but you never know.
