rich harmonics, nice middle honk - how ?

I've heard on many soundsamples where the Fuchs gives a very sweet singing feedback same time the sound not being very 'distorted' and the middle frequencies are cutting trough very good and in a nice way both in humbuckers and P90's.

I'm just getting my first clone (Normsters layout + PS board) running and would like to know what should I tweak to or look after to get in the same kind of terratory ?

Or how would one tweak the knobs + switches to get close to that sound ?

If you've done everything right, you'll get "That" sound. Basically all the knobs are centered or close to it. Get it up and running first, then worry about tweaking it.

Funny you should ask...I had the same issue until yesterday. I always wondered how everyone got those sweet singing harmonics and mid complexity. Part of the answer is the master volume. I played a fairly large room with good accoustics yesterday. Same settings I usually use, but with the master on 11:00 o'clock. The Dumble sounded so good it gave me chills. My modded Bassman hasn't seemed quite right since I performed the last of the Dogears mods, but again, with the volume at 10:30-11:00 is was astounding.

My guess is that the guitar, amp, and speaker really have to be at "working" volume to get the best out of the combination. It's OK at bedroom levels, but superb at gig levels.

You are right Bob-I, but this is too much fun. I had to ask that I had chance to try Fuchs overdrive supreme and I think I got some kind of fever out of it

You are maybe right, I'll have to give it a go on the next rehearseals. For now I'm running my clone through 1 x 12'' ceramic weber 1265. I was thinking of building just enough big cab (vertical) for 1 weber 12'' 1265 + 1 12'' red, white and blue. Maybe with 3 jacks to run either one (8ohm) or both (4ohm) at the same time . Well more tolex glueing for me I think

I had a chance to A/B the Weber 1265 with a Tonespotter...night and day. The Weber was dull and lifeless by comparison. I haven't tried the RW&B yet but Dogears seems to like them a lot.

Oh it is so bad ? It is actually givivg a not very pleasant thin 'rizzling' sound on every amp I've tried it with (I don't know if this is known as the cone cry ?). I really have to try the RW&B !! But first I have to get the amp working 100%.

I've had no luck with te Weber 1265 myself. Not only in the Dumble's but also in Fender and Marshall type amps. I found that my old JBL D-120 and a pair of Celestion G12H80's are working very well for me in the Dumbles. I replaced a bent up aluminum cone on the JBL with a paper dome and it's much smoother now.
