I don't know, as the Stingray uses an EF86 in the first position into EL84s and already has the cut control. My Rocket and Stangray sound very much alike so in my opinion I think you already have that covered. Are you thinking of adding another switchable gain stage?

On to the Dumble sound. I would think that you would need to build another complete amp to get a Dumble sound using 6L6, EL34 or 6550 tubes.

I am just looking for something cool to do to my Ray. I don't like alot of distortion. Just wanna expand my project. I already added a spring reverb with dwell and mix control.

How about this.

I was looking at something like the Ceriatone Creme Brulee which has EF86 in V1 like the Stingray but has the nice selectable tone circuit.

But maybe the 36watt EF would be closer to what you have.

Creme Brûlée is a half powered take on the EF-86 channel of a Matchless DC-30. I have the prototype version of this amp. It's very voxy but with more tonal options.

Ah, ok thanks. :D

I know sometimes Nik gets clever with his names especially after the ODS and Trainwreck debacle.
I just couldn't relate that name to a known amp.

Tom,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, two things happened: I had a gig last night got back at 4 AM and the work crews in the area had cut my Qwest phone line which is my DSL. The good thing was the bar had their own PA and sound man yahoo. They also want us back for more of our old 50, 60, 70 music. And the DSL is fixed obviously.

I like the looks of that Creme Brulee circuit and maybe down the road I can build one. If it is voxy that could be a good thing.
