Gutting a Hammond E-111

I got this from the church for free. The kids had pretty much thrashed it, as in , broke off a bunch of keys, pulled wires loose underneath the keys. I believe that it is beyond repair as an organ, I was thinking that there might be usable parts on the inside . I figured that there must be some type of amp in there, it's got some tubes in there too . Anyone utilized something like this ? Thank for any help or info, Greg

I built a guitar amp from a Hammond M3 organ amp, AO-29.

It had two Sylvania silver topped 6V6GT's and two Sylvania 12AX7's.

Not familiar with the E-111.

I am going to start asking around the area for organs as most are getting sold for little or nothing but not sure what years the tube organ amps stopped being made. I did find the Estey organ amp on Ebay.

My cousin goes around to estate sales and such looking for tube powered organs.
All he is after is the tubes.
He has gone to Goodwill and bought an organ, stripped the tubes and left the rest there......

I know in my area, there are always organs on Craigslist for next to nothing.
Grandma passed away and left me this organ, for sale $50 or free.

There is usually three to four a week I see.

I posted an Estey organ amp I got on Ebay and it looks very promising for an 18watt tremolo amp to me.

It's got a 50 watt tube amp inside. If nothing else the power and output transformers are valuable. The organ sold for about $2400 new and that is when you could buy a new car for $1000. They used quality parts that are worth salvaging

If nothing else looks like a gold mine for the tubes alone!

Probably some good coupling caps too.

What are your plans for it.

I'd be interested in what those transistors are under all the dust on the bottom of the cab.
Might be some nice early Germanium's.

Speaker might be worth something as well.

Make sure you grab the speakers! I grabbed 10", 12", and 15" alnico's out of a Conn organ that was on its way to the junkyard. Someone else had already gotten the tubes including a pair each of RCA 7027s and 7868s and about 30 RCA clear-top 12au7s. I got the trannies and the speakers though.

The speakers are great especially for old tweed type circuits or JTM45s. The 12" is 30 watts and sounds really good w/ the JTM45 or Plexi6V6 in JTM45-ish mode. I also have an old magnavox 12" alnico out of some other organ in my 5E3/6G3 mutant that I picked up for $10 shipped on ebay. It beats any other alnico speaker for that amp that I've ever heard.
