WOW!! Thanks for such a speedy response Glen, it is much appreciated. :D

Thus far, I would most certainly agree with your thoughts regarding GeorgeLs and the Express. A Mate has lent me a magnificent old Curly Vox lead and that seems much more ear friendly to me. Also, being an Old Fart, I have fond memories of Curly Leads.... despite all that is said of their quality etc.

YES.... The Clean To Scream is greatly enhanced by use of the Full Bright Switch so I shall now start experimenting with different cables as per your detailed reply.

Incidently Glen, It has been "The Clipper" that has made me really want to get the very best out of the Rig that I can. That to my ears is EXACTLY what I want, but it would help no end if I had your abilities, which sadly... I don't!

Thanks again for your kind response.

Hi!

I remember Glen having a brightness problem with his own clones.
He upped the capacitor across the two PI to solve it IIRC...

True for a while I had a 250pf PI aka "fizz" cap. However when I swapped in the Sozo electrolytics I put the stock PI cap back in and it's still darker then it ever was. Now I'm even setting the knobs differently.

TNX, Glen for the info.

I wouldn't have expected the electrolytics to change the sound THIS much.

Looks like modern caps are to good (low ESR aso...)
Have to check it in my Liverpool /2.

Does the elco change alter the background hiss also?
The fizz cap should reduce it a bit.
