Fuchs ODS : what circuit?

Post by ODwan »

Hello everybody!

I recently got to play a Fuchs ODS 50. Great Amp with a tone just to my liking! Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy one so I probably could build a D-Clone that gets in the ballpark. Can anybody tell me which circuit the Fuchs follows, is it HRM or not, Skyliner or not?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Timo

Andy has a whole bunch of proprietary differences between his amps and Dumbles.

I can say that if you build a good Hybrid A clone, you will get a great tone! The Hybrid A is a good starting point.

The Fuchs amps are not HRM btw.

Thank you for the information, Dogears! I had in mind to start from the Hybrid A schem and tweak my way to MY tone but the Fuchs was pretty close to that. Knowing that it is not HRM will save me some soldering. I don't really want to copy the Fuchs just the tone!

Timo,

Check out Normsters Bassman layout. Make sure you use the recommended component types as well.

Dogears,
I shure shall do that, but have troubles getting those Vishay Dale resistors. I can get three other brands, however and will try them one after another.

I will not be able to start this project until well into June, but be sure to here from me then. Your help is highly appreciated, your the "Oracle in the West" from my point of view. Thanks again,

Timo
