An Amp Builder is Born (literally)
Well, as of 9 am today, I have a new little son. Rest assured, when the time is right, he's going to be building himself one awesome amplifier (and probably outplay me by 10 years of age, not that he will start building that young).
Exact science is not an exact science

Congratulations
They are never too young to start on small battery powered science project kits.
I got my son Alan into the computer building at a young age when it was hard to keep up with the upgrades all the time.
When he got out of the service he went to school and got his A+ certification but, alas he want to go back to school and take up massage therapy and physical therapy.
Well it got him some work in the computer field to do while he goes back to school for that.
Just keep him away from the electrical outlets. I got my education there with a piece of bare wire at a young age.
Enjoy them, they grow up all too fast.

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird , and they take Prozac to make it normal.

That's what I thought too. But then one day, my 8 year old decided to clip both sides of a battery together. The battery heated up and burned the carpet it was sitting on. We smelled the melted fibers and put an end to that "experiment".gahult wrote:

So even with low voltage, make sure there is supervision.
Oh, and congratulations!

That is always a good idea.sliberty wrote:

I don't know how we baby boomers made it this far with the Gilbert chemistry sets and all the good stuff
Hell, we used to "experiment" with mercury rubbing it on pennys to make em silver, just for one example.
Don't know how we lived though some of the other crap we did when the parents weren't looking.
