Has anyone had success with a post-pi master volume? I know that the Wreck tone is in the power tube crunch, but that much volume is just too much for my living situation I'm wondering if the mod would still produce a usable tone.
just build an attenuator steve i have some info on them if you want to build one. cost about 100$ parts and shipping from mouser.com to build one...they sound like the amp. parts are just big power resistors...
I would be very interested in attenuator information Do you think putting the attenuator in the chassis ( with a switch) would be a problem. I'd like to keep this compact if I can.
I've been toying with the attenuator idea as well. Jblues and I have been bouncing a few PMs around as he tries to get me up to speed. (I'm a hopeless cause I think.)
Anyway, all I can contribute at this time is a worksheet I've been using to try to make sense of the math. Please feel free to make corrections if any of it makes sense. It's mostly just stuff I've gotten off the net.
The table on the right has some weird calcs beginning on line 29 as I was trying to switch in a rheostat that converted the network from a loss-pad to a pi-pad.

the zugster webpage is where i got most my info also...i also was talking to normster and we tweaked the excell speadsheet a bit...he had done originally. sorry was away for a bit . but info is this i built my attenuator using the bridged t design from zugsters webpage link here is a list of stuff i ordered for it from mouser.com
