I did state that (they said 2 billion) based on a report I heard on FOX. My guess is that they will still get a chunk of money.

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

I am at home now and don't have the link I want to share you guys/gals about the new DOD hiring that will be starting soon. They are building up the DOD civilian work force to help with military operations abroad. This includes combat training in case civilians need to help in combat situations.

I will send it from work tomorrow.

I agree that FOX most likely got it wrong. I still don't agree with the current bailout plan. Help is needed but there should have been more thought put into it.

Amen

I love the fact that the host doesn't understand the fact the everyone there actually hates all this nonsense. He seems to think it has something to do with the guy's charisma. Ha, but i suppose that's why the press got us into this whole mess in the first place. What is it now, six reporters who have put down their nets to become fishers of men with the messiah?

In the mean time we that pay our bills and don't go into foreclosure but are barely hanging on, especially if one spouse loses their job, will not get any help.
They just rewarded people that didn't have any business getting into the mortgage in the first place. So their houses go into foreclosure, dragging the value of the surrounding houses in the neighborhood down.

Another example of the Marxist "spread the wealth around" policies.

My sentiments exactly. A friend of mines mother-in-law (a realator) bought three houses planninng to get rich I suspect. She lost two to forclosure and hasn't paid a payment on the third for many months. Now the rumor is she thinks she may be able to keep the last one with a bail-out. The shame of it all.

Now waidaminnit. Maybe I'm a dumb-ass but didn't we just give $300 billion to the big banks? That on top of the $3 trillion Iraq has cost us so far? Then when the automakers come beggin' fer a "puny" $25 billion to keep 3 million people in jobs they pretty much got told to take a hike.

The scale of the thing is mind boggling. Yeah, the bankers all got an ass-reaming in front of Congress the other day. Wanna give that TARP money back? Raise yer hand, give the money back and maybe we'll let you go without a public humiliation.

"Conventional wisdom" states that there are all sorts of "freeloaders" hangin' on the system. "Freeloaders" like the unemployed. I've said this before and it bears repeating: In an economy headed for 10% unemployment there aren't enough jobs to go around.

Wake up, people. Maybe you run yer own business or you're secure in yer job. Good fer you! God help you if you become unemployed, you'll get tossed into the most high pressure job market ever. 39 weeks or unemployment sounds pretty good then, huh? Or do ya wanna get in the long line o' people applyin' fer a $9.00/hour job at Pizza Slut?

Increasing the unemployment benefit and increasing the length of the benefit to 39 weeks makes perfect sense. It takes pressure off the job market, if there aren't enough jobs to go around we might as well pay people for 39 weeks pretty much to stay outta work. It makes far more sense to me than handin' $350 billion to rich bankers. Hell, none o' those bastards make less than $500k per year without bonuses. The CEO or Bank of America is at the top o' the food chain w/ $1.5 mil salary per year. Screw the bonuses, I can f*ck up a bank as good as any o' these jokers, give ME the $1.5 mil per year. I'll trash yer bank for ya. It might take me two years...

Hey Tom from Orygon, how long could you coast on $1.5 mil?!!!

Don't get me wrong, I wuz the nut job goin' around sayin' "The sky is fallin'! The sky is fallin'" Now the sky is fallin'. Whadda ya gonna do about it?

When you nibble at the individual issues, you miss the point.

At this time, stock analysts are starting to base thier analysis on how much money a company has spent on lobbying congress. Any idea what that means? It's over. The trust is gone, and the profit is gone, and it was all based on lies.

Buy gold, make sure you have ammunition, and a can of food per person in your household for at least one year of days.

Read Atlas Shrugged, you should read it before all this, but you'll have the time you really need to understand it now.

Good luck.

Ok here's my play. Buy as much triple long financial sector ETFs as you can afford. Look for a bear market rally later this year and turn them to cash when the dow retraces to 9700-9800. Don't be shy about taking money of the table. Use a loose following stop.

There are 8000 banks in the country. 20 of them may be in trouble. Exxon/Mobil has a market cap of 348 billion. All the financials on the DOW have a combined market cap of 240 billion +/-. This market is so oversold it's straining at the leash to retrace 40%.

The sun will shine tomorrow. If you had all done what I told you back when the DOW was at 11600 you wouldn't be whining. You would be buying back in. I'm lookin for 40-50% gain on my 401 by the end of Obama's first term. Then I'll go back to cash while you poor bastards pay the money back.

Be happy.

aha get out of the technicals, the books are all lies. There is no market.

I trade on sentiment.

DOW 6500, and that will also be inflated.
