Mark, I’m glad you used my information for your faceplate.

I can't really describe my amp sound, because it isn’t easy to describe an amp sound and my English isn’t very good. But, My amp sound is fantastic. My amp is quiet and have a very good dynamic. It has a lot of gain and I can control it.

François,

To my ears your English perfectly described a great sounding amp, congratulations.

I have three more face plates coming in the mail using your designs and added my name on the face plates. They look sweet got one for my express, liverpool, rocket and express combo. Designing some new ones to work with my Fender slant chassis style builds that I have going, as well as, a Route 66 build into a 212 cab.

Mark, the frontpanelexpress.com will change the face of your amps. :D

About my English: I’m studying it in the evening course for my work, and also for my hobby.
Before that, I studied computer science and software development at university.
I really need English to find a good job in my domain in North America. My hobby and this forum are good to improve my English. I read guitar amps books and technical books. It’s easier than other books, because I know one part of the vocabulary. Right now, I’m buying a Radiotron designer's handbook 4th ed. It’s in the mail. I have an electronic copy of this, but the real one is better. Now, I read more books about guitar amps than computer science, but tube guitar amps sounds better than computer. :D

Francois, I was about to ask you to advise us on the method of tube mounting until I saw the top & bottom chassis covers are removable.
This is a great way to make a rack mountable tube pre/power amp.
I don't know the insides of rack mount amps at all. Is this your method
or a pretty common design method?

Beautifully thick traces on your PC boards. The quantity of adjustable
features gives the pre amp a distinctly professional aroma. I'm very
impressed.

I have a bunch of the ancient tube books in hardcover too. I could only afford the Radiotron Versh 3 though. They're not soon to be replaced by PDF files either. I don't bring the computer to the bathroom but I will bring my book if I'm absorbed in a topic. 8)

I'm no EE but from my viewpoint the study of tube manipulation has to
be infinitely more engrossing than nano technology and it's ilk. I realize a fellow has to make a buck too. So that's not a "knock" on your chosen
field of study by any means. It takes a much more intelligent and organized mind to grasp the work you study than I brought to the fete.

Nice work my man,

NG.

Here's a shot of my old workplace. Motivation was the "key"!

Thanks NG,
For my pre-amp, it isn’t my layout. It’s a Soldano x88r layout. My rhythm channel is modified, and I modified a switching circuit for add a Midi controller. I programmed a microcontroller for that. I also add a regulate DC for tube filaments. I only saw a Soldano x88r with this design method of tube mounting in rack pre-amps.

I took these pictures of my pre-amp, and my Slo 50 watts to post and share them at The Sloclone forums, because I took a lot of information for these amps at this place

They don’t have a stressful job in your old workplace!
