Dumble ODS Video on YouTube

Really nice sounding ODS played by Peter Lerche. Serial number wise, I'd would put this one in the 170's which would indicate a non-HRM. However #182 was HRM so...you never know!

I really, really like the sound of this amp. This is the kinda sound I associate with a Dumble ODS.

I'm not so sure. I love the cleans but the OD was not what I like. I don't like the jazz setting so much but I'm gonna listen on my other PC with studio monitors connected.

Non HRM w/100K plates would be my guess, possibly MM iron based upon the look of the thing.

I have to agree with Bob - not my kind of tone. It's like he's trying to get it to sound like a Boogie.

Definitely a non-HRM by the way he's got the OD level and master set...hard to say whether it's a 100k or 220/150 because not only is the sound lo-fi youtube quality, but he's got the controls set all screwy.

So how would he get it to sound like a Dumble? :D

It sure is a versatile amp, no bones about it.

I emailed Peter asking about the serial number and what kind of tubes it’s running. I’ll report back if/when I hear anything.

I listened on the studio monitors, much better, but still not my tone. I'd use rock position and less gain, but isn't that what switches and knobs are for? No doubt it's a great sounding amp, I'd just change the settings to suit my ear.

I liked the playing and I liked the sound. After listening to funk's cool clip also, I guess a non-HRM is on the list. I'm going to do it with a pair of 6550's though. I just did a 70w minimalist HRM with 6550's and first word that sprang to mind was 'fun'.

What impressed me most about the video was the range of tones he was pulling out of the amp. The PAB stuff was way over the top, but a good demo of how nasty and aggressive a Dumble can get. The OD tone at 2:30+ was about as sweet as I've ever heard. Very good example of playing to let the amp do its thing instead of chasing RF tone...IMHO of course.

Yes, a huge range of tones, especally when he played with the OD and the guitar volume. I found some of the tones mushy in the low end especally with the neck PU.

Great sounding amp I just would've used different settings.

Remember the amp was mostly in jazz mode, so switching from that to PAB is a huge step... Sounded very nice though.
