Hi all,
I'm sort of new to the amp garage although I've lurking around for over a year and have posted a few times. Anyway...
I just completed my first D'Lite 22/33 build. I fired it up last night and all is good right out of the gate. No noise, buzz or hums and it sounds great.
My next step is to put in the relay board and the switching hardware for swapping tubes (6V6 and 6L6).
Can somebody who has done these mods alert me to any issues I should be aware of? Problems, gotchas?
Any and all sage advice is appreciated.
Here's a link to a pic of my build.

Thanks,

Which layout did you follow?
Most agree that you should have shielded cable on all four runs from the Level and Drive pots. None on the Master.
Two button footswitch is pretty straight forward.
You'll want to mount your power supply board for the relays between the rectifier board and the pilot light on the side wall.
If you want to put your OT primaries on a switch most put the switch where the bias pot is now and re-locate the bias pot over between the PT and IEC inlet.
I will also give you some advice about the switch on the OT primaries, remember that the bat toggle always points away from the pair of wires it is switching. You can verify that with an ohmmeter.
And never switch the primaries when the amp is turned on......sparks will fly.

I followed the layout posted in the D'lite sticky area .Structo wrote:Which layout did you follow?

I did not use any shielded cable. I don't have any noise yet. I will probably replace with shielded cable as I do more modding.
Thanks for the tips... I'll post follow-ups...
Re: My first D'lite build is done!
The shielded runs from the OD Level and Drive pots serve another purpose as well as shielding, it adds a bit of capacitance from the cables and supposedly smooths the OD tone a bit.
But hey, if you're happy with the amp, that's all that matters.
If you feel like tweaking the circuit, here's a layout with the recommended mods.
The value on the master is wrong, it should be 1M.
If you put in the switch for the OT primaries, be sure to follow the color codes on the layouts for the wires to the tubes.
Also never flip the switch while powered up, unless you want fireworks.
Most guys put the switch where the bias pot is now and relocate the bias pot over between the PT and IEC.
Be sure when wiring the switch that it isn't too close to the impedance selector.
