4 6v6 dumble amp output transformer question

Post by goodtone77 »

I am going to build a 4x6v6 and have a marshall plexi 50watt transformer sitting aroung with 3.4k. Would this be ok for a 4x6v6 power section. I am after the 50/25 option and like the 6v6 tube.

6.6k for 2 x 6v6 ( like deluxe reverb)

3.3k for 4 x 6v6

is this right?

thanks

Sounds right to me.

I'm interested in how this one comes out. I have a 2x6V6 Dumble that I just love, adding 2 more power tubes would be excellent.

Bob,

I'm about to start a 2-6V6 ODS myself. Were there any changes you made (say, to the PI values) for the 6V6s? Or did the values on the schematics work as is?

Of course, any other suggestions are also welcome.

Thanks,
Michael

The values worked as is. In fact I started off with 6L6's and swapped to 6V6's with no more than bias adjustment. The B+ comes out at 420 and JJ's can handle lots of voltage.
