super reverb dumble amp????

Post by 63superreverb »

I am a really big fan of super reverb tone or fender...the early ones seem almost hi-fi feel and touch to me-----could this 40 watt or so consept be made into a dumbumble type guitar amp with the dumbumble bloooooooom that i love...all i have ever played to my liking is two different amps I should say three a 1964 super reverb with cts ceramic speaker and an early 1964 super reverb amp with jensen C-10R speakers...and a carr rambler with a lot of touch sensivitivity and touch responce that is just amazing to me...the car imperial 4X10 I have never tryed...could anyone shed some light here....I have been really wanting a bludo-tone maybe brandon could shed some light on the super-dumble!!!!would the wattage change it all!!!I have been studying building a champ to get my feet wet....but all in all I am just a guitar player.....I guess hell i am just looking to buy a good amp/great amp......used 4x10 carr imperial???

Not to be a buzz killer, but I converted a Super Reverb clone that sounded great into a Dumble like amp. It killed it and nothing I could do could get the Super Reverb tone back, short of restoring it back to original.

I think the best thing you can do it to use a Dumble like pedal like a Zen Drive.

I have seen a number of Fender based projects in these forums while researching my own Fender/ODS conversion.

Also, check through the archives at "blueguitar.org"

Here is one good starting point that I used (from Steve's blueguitar site):

Here is my own schematic for your files. May be of some interest for your project.

Thanks all of you guys for the information thanks very much....very enteresting...I will hang on to the fenderumble files thank you....thanks for sharing your talent...dmble seems more fender to me sound wise than the wrecks...the wrecks sound vox/marshallish and i love them but just not me...so a dmble super is very apealing to me if it had the sweet overdriven bloom...wattage wise too...I am not much into pedals these days....maybe im out of my mind in my thinking here....
Thanks guys for the imput

hi 63superreverb,

At this moment I'm trying to convert the clean channel of my Ceriatone OTS (dumble clone) to a super reverb.

Anybody ever done this?

My gretsch guitar doesn't match up with the ceriatone/dumble clean.
(but sounds great through a super reverb!)
Just like you I LOVE the clean (and slightly dirty) tone of the super reverb.
