Wiring Stereo True Bypass
I've been banging my head against the wall for sometime about this. I'm wiring a pedal board. In bypass it's mono in dual mono out. enguaged it's mono in stereo out. The way i usually wire 3PDT truebypass allows me to use the center row for Ground and LED. I guess i'll have to do external LED on a 4PDT unless anyone know's of a place to buy 6PDT. or a trick i've over looked.

Re: Wiring Stereo True Bypass
just wanted to run this wiring by you and see if i'm thinking soundly
4PDT switch wired for mono input stereo output true bypass w/ single LED indication
the pins will be wired as follows..:
1 Resistor to LED (+9V) (PINK)
2 Ground (MUSTARD)
3 Bridged to pin 6 (PURPLE)
4 FROM Input (RED)
5 FX Send (IN) (GREY)
6 Bridged to pin 3 (PURPLE)
7 FX Return (L) (GREEN)
8 TO Output (L) (GREEN)
9 FROM Input (RED)
10 FX Return (R) (BLUE)
11 TO Output (R) (BLUE)
12 From Input (RED)

Re: Wiring Stereo True Bypass
Looks good to me. Only thing I might be concerned about is the "dual mono" bypass out. Depends on what you're plugging into. Since it's really just a "Y" cord you may get some interaction, hum etc. between them. But it may work just fine

Re: Wiring Stereo True Bypass
suggestions to isolate the mono output?
Would it be a good idea to use and isolation transformer?
the only other idea I can come up with for a TRUE!!! bypass stereo w/ LED would be to put two 3PDT toggle switches side by side and hope they both get triggered at the same time. but the mono in would still be "Y"'d.
would it not be correct to have a mono "Y" output since it's a single guitar feeding a L and R output. with out a stereo effect both signals would be the same. only after the mono signal is sent to the last of 36 pedals is it returning to the master I/O as a Stereo L and R.
YES 36 pedals this pedal board is 40"+L x 28"D and weighs in close to 60lbs outside of the ATA case. everything is wired True Bypass with Pre and Post Distortion FX Loops. and Boost pedal FX loops insert points. VHT line Buffer... I'm just glad i'm not going to be the one who has to move it.
