speaker proximity to tube..
I've decided to go with the Weber Sig 8S in my champ. I do have a small space concern and I'm wondering if its an issue. Please remember that this is my first attempt at a tube amp. The rear of the speaker magnet is about 1 inch away from the 6V6 tube.. damn near dead center. Is the magnetic fiend around the rear of the speaker bell going to have any adverse affects on the operation of the tubes ? Is there a rule to keeping the speakers a certain distance from the tubes ? I know that the champs I've seen pictures of ..... the tube is damn almost touching the speaker back... I'm just curious if anybody has anything to say about it ? Thanks everyone again for all the help. Pending any smoke, I should have sound clips in a few days.

Ever see how huge the magnet is on a EV12L? They don't get any bigger, and i have stuck them in every combo i have owned for years, a few of which had the power tubes as close to touching a power tube as they could be w/o actually touching. Never had a single problem. I thought of the same thing as you, but from my experience it's a non issue.

Awesome... Thanks you guys. It may seem petty but to a noob, it seems like an honest question. The more pictures of combos I look at the more I see that they cram it all there at any cost. Look for pics soon !
