Effective cost?

Post by Icetech »

Just curious if anyone has added up the cost of sourcing the parts for their TW, doing your own chassis as opposed to having one done?

How does $500-ish sound for a complete (and accurate) 'Wreck with Moose's trannies? Add another $200-$300 for a custom cab and $45 for some decent tubes.

Don't worry, I'm not offering my services to build it for you but can point you in the direction I took.

I see you are from Detroit. Where specifically? I'm in Canton. Maybe you'd want to check out my newly born Express clone? Not sure what to name it yet.

Yeah im up in macomb, I have no problem building it myself... i have used mostly donor amps up to this point and had no idea on like cost of trannies and such, plan on braking my own chassis, want a different layout, with no cab... sorta ampeg fliptop with the tubes up front and caged:)

as with any amp it can vary from what parts you use. Some cost much more than others.. But what people have been posting is a good ballpark figure. Although you could spend a few hundred dollors on NOS tubes alone..

With that attitude, you're eventually going to get to a point where the wife automatically inflates things 40% and you'll have to cut the professed price in HALF to fool her.
