If you will entertain my question on this pickup.

Is the flattened braid connected to the pickup body, then the other two wires are connected to the beginning and end of the winds. The tape is used to separate the ground from the signal leads. The bar magnet is first covered in black paper tape then wound then covered again then encased in the lipstick covers.

is that right.

Ange I believe you are correct.
I always wondered what the insides of one of those looked like.

Now you have to put it back together!

yeah who ever owns that one.... I did not take my own apart..... But it was nice to find that photo, amazing what is on the net if you scour.
