Ditto 'dat'. :) It's nice when people show some love, at least some kind of acknowledgement. :)

I've learned more about amps in general reading here than I've learned anywhere else. I don't post much - I generally can find the answers to my questions with the search function (Dumble related or not). I wish I had more to offer... I'm reluctant to answer questions unless I'm sure of the answer - in fact, I've learned a LOT just by reading people's questions, answering them in my head, then checking back here later to see if I was right (or not  ).

Anyways, THANKS to ALL who have shared info and knowledge here. Much appreciated!!! 8)

My sentiments as well. I never built an amp before being turned on to this site. Have now built four with a fifth in the works. Could not and would not have done it without the unselfish help from folks on this forum. Not in it for anything but my own personal enjoyment and sense of accomplishment. The extra playing while tweaking has resulted in the welcome side effect of small breakthroughs in my guitar playing, too. I would post more if I thought it would help anyone. Alas, I am a tinkerer/wanker as a builder.

Carry on - I'm back to lurking............

THANK YOU guys for this lovely forum.
I'm more of a reader than a writer myself.
And sure did learn a lot from this AND other forums.
At this moment, I wouldn't know how I could contribute.
But I will chare when I have something to chare.

Thanks again!

Damn, now you made me feel bad.
Are you sure you want to hear what we (like me), have to say.
To be honest this forum is a little intimidating sometimes, so that's why I keep my head low... and I'm here just 'cause I don't have a D style amp tech around, so I have to learn from scratch, just to be able to change a resistor or a cap within my humble OTS.
Not that it sounds bad... but with a few changes, it can sound even better.

...and I forgot to say
THANKS A LOT

I think the issue is that people come here, contribute NOTHING, and TAKE info posted here to use for financial gain. It is one thing to get info here to become educated and build yourself an amp, it's another to get info here to build amps comercially, and give NOTHING back to the community.

I completely agree.

I also agree Scott, many of us have learned from the off topics as well.

Nobody has commented on the amp. Based on the layout it looks like he has put the OD trim on the back panel and done away with the FET input.

He has put on R/J, DEEP and Mid Boost on the front switches and used pull-pots for Bright and the Master treble cap.

yeah, looks like an "expanded option" version with some adds...I found very useful to have the trim pot on the back, but I see that it's a 25k trimmer in serie with the stock 250k trim on board, so I think that the back panel pot it's a sort of "fine tuning" pot.
The clip posted by marin blues on youtube are great, some high end freqs are not totally smoothed, but I think that it's a matter of settings...

My 50W HRM also had that same high-endy thing that's in those clips and I never really got rid of it. In my amp it wasn't a matter of settings...I always assumed it was layout since mine is in a Fender chassis and my layout is very non-stock. Mine also seemed to have too much IM distortion...heaven forbid you not play perfectly cleanly because the resulting IM 'note' was prominent enough to sound pretty sour. Even tuning the amp to the point of sounding honky/nasally didn't get rid of it (cleaned up the low end yes...but didn't seem to fix the high-endy thing and the IM).

What 'layout' are you referring to ic-racer? When I just checked there was no layout (the word is there but it's not a link).

For 50W HRM it's there, check again... press refresh if it doesn't work for you.

Thanks mcinku...could've sworn I checked that a few days ago and it wasn't there.

I noticed the puffs are on V2...I thought HRMs didn't get puffs? It also has the local NFB on CL2 and I thought HRMs didn't have that either.

It also shows 200k grid returns (aka bias splitters). I thought the 200k there was a mistake that kept getting carried over and that the typical 220k was correct. It def makes a difference...220k is punchier/fuller/louder (edit: I assume this effect varies depending on power tube used).

A) C'mon Brandon.......... Give nothing back to the community???????? How about a great amp for a great price without a huge wait........

B) Regarding financial gain............what about every other builder on this site including yourself? Some hefty price tags for those Bludos...........serious profit margin????

Just trying to keep it real.............. Let's stop bashing folks...Nik has contributed immensely for many folks that can't afford a Bludo.''

I may be OFF topic Scott, but pls hear me out...i`m building an amp for a fellow( Ron Ravenscroft, google him) who talked to Mr. Dumble first hand. His quote..GREAT AMP, LOUSY man to deal with. Now this guy is a PHILHARMONIC conductor and pro touring guitarist. He HATES a long wait, and i`ve @ made him HATE ME!! I do mostly Fender mods, an amp or 2 a year is @ it. And @ ALL i can take it seems! Either one, the Ceriatones are being built by a SWEATSHOP in Taiwan at the rate of 100 a day, , or the guy NEVER EVER sleeps.. To build this amp RIGHT takes TIME, you can either get a PRO job, that TAKES more time by a guy who KNOWS his stuf like Brandon/Glaswerks, etc, or get a walmart version from Ceriatone, cuz thats what they truly are, THE TONE is not achieved by every tom dick and hairy, and if and when it does, we are all screwed!!! God bless Nik tho for at least trying to be the walmart of Dumble. No harm intended nor extended Nik!

sincerly, w/thanks to ALL the great guys here at the forum( Scott, Brandon especially!) , plus well u know who you are out there in Cally, who has made my life and uuh amps RICH!!
