Guess he really wants to sell it this time as there is no reseve.

Could someone enlighten me, as I only count 4 screws on the rear baffle?

All real Dumbles I have seen have 13 screws. Anything less and that baffle board would get blown right off.

The rear oval port does not look like the appropriate size?

What do you folks think?

Not sure about the number of screws required, but the rear baffle board could have been replaced at some time. The rest of the cab looks like the real deal.

Here are a couple from Rob L.'s site that have only 4 screws also (Could be the same amp? They are listed as "unknown" 3 & 4)

I am very confident that is the same amp from the photos. Something is not correct.

There is no way 4 screws would hold that baffle board on well when that amp is cranked, it would cause many unwanted sounds and eventual problems.

When they first started showing up for resale in the late 1990's there's was some discussion about authenticity but recently some chassis pics posted here were said to look straight as the chassis' had all the right tells.

There is nothing "incorrect" about that amp. It is identical to the one that Tom Anderson owned.

Are you sure? 4 Screws? The Oval port looks does not look right.

Your amp is much much older than #205. Things change after 10 or 15 years!

The back baffle would have no problem staying on with just four screws, IMO. Especially if threaded inserts were used.

I haven't played the one in the auction but I've played three others from that group, and thought they all sounded the same. This is based on memory as I didn't have them all together at once. The original owner of the auction amp had this one and another and said they sounded the same. The other one is one of the ones I've played. I much prefer the earlier, pre HRM models to these. These amps seem to take a lot more technique to get the good stuff out of them.

They look like sheet rock screws heads?

I would not agree, by true mechanical engineering standards the spacing is too far apart and would not fly no matter how new the design (threaded inserts or not).

There is lot going on in that cab Scott, I know and if that rear baffle is loose in any way or the proper number of screws are not employed, all hell starts to break loose.

As far as I know regarding combos, Mr. Dumble has not changed his cabinet design.

I have a 2x12 from 94 that has 8 screws. I am pretty sure it is original since I got it from the man himself. Also, Tom Andersons combo was from that same era it also only had 4 scerews on the back.

It just seems out of character for Mr. Dumble, but you may be correct.

Any pics of your 2X12 built by Mr. Dumble?
