Hey everyone
The prongs on the 12-65 are so small! I can't get my wire clips to stay on. What solutions are you using?

EDIT: I just noticed that the specs list these as .25 which is incorrect they are really .187 and work on the smaller spe lugs. The cat page has it correct.

Those are intended for solder, which although historically accurate, presents a HUGE pain in the ass!! do you think if enough of us bitch Celestion will offer them with Fastons?

I don't deal with as many speakers as you Funk, but I have created a few faston pigtails for speakers with stupid lugs...thank you ted. With rectangular lugs I find it's the thickness that's wrong. Sometimes the normal width female will work if you squish them a tad with pliers.Funkalicousgroove wrote:Those are intended for solder, which although historically accurate, presents a HUGE pain in the ass!! do you think if enough of us bitch Celestion will offer them with Fastons?

Re: Wiring solution for Celestion G12-65
Here is a simple solution to the G1265 terminals and is what I do on new cabinets.
1. Prepare two wires about 1.5" (or less) long.
2. Strip all ends back about 1.2"
3. Install a 1/4" male spade lug on each wire (crimp and solder)
4. Slip the other end of the wire into the hole at the center of the connecter on the speaker and slide the wire under the "C" shaped lip.
5. Solder the lugs and you should be good to go.
Now you can plug in your standard faston (spade) lugs.
And no, I dougt Celestion will change the design, I asked a LONG time ago.

Ha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they're really annoying.
A year ago I was really into historically accurate reproduction, and then some of my repairman buddies helped me realize something. Some things change simply because they've been improved.
