I just did two more clips trying to see what my Strat sounds like. Sounds like a Strat but not like a Fender amp. I also recorded another full bore humbucker clip to make sure things had not changed much. I'm pretty happy I can get a good sound out of all my guitars (Tele, Tele Deluxe with humbuckers, Strat, Hamer Artist, cheap OLP MM1, Heritage H150) and using all pickups without mucking around. What you hear is the guitar into the amp and a little reverb added after recording. SM57 close-miked, Eminence Legend 1218 8 ohm in an open-backed cab. All done in my home office at a very moderate volume - the master volume on this works great! I can't get the Dogears sound, but I still think it's a great sound and easily stands up to a local pros Fuchs I heard. The under $1K spent, speaker + cab and all was well worth the effort.
I want to thank everyone on the forum that has helped me.
God Bless!
Bob

Sounds great - nice playin' and nice backing track.
However, would be nice to hear the STRAT track with
a little less reverb on the guitar and also
a little higher in the mix
You play great so lets hear that strat
I re-mixed the strat clip with less reverb and brought the guitar more out front. You should be able to hear the guitar better now. File attached.
The recording is done using a $100 (at Best Buy) M-Audio Fast Track USB interface and the Session software that is included. I use the freeware program Audacity if I need to convert files or do some fading, etc. Very simple and very cheap. As I said before, a Shure SM57 close-miked to a single-12 open-back cab straight into the Fast Track. That's it.

That was quick - sounds great.
How did you make the 'play along file' with drums, bass and piano ? was that really provided in the software included with your M-Audio fast track USB interface ?

Hey DrpastorBob:
Why don't you give us a brief tour of the amp. Plate and cathode resistors and caps. Entrance into the OD, loading of the OD level pot, tonestack values etc. You've got good balanced tone between single coils and humbuckers.

Dan,
I'd be more than happy to share all the details. Give me a couple of days and I'll verify all the values, summarize, and include pictures of the inside. I have not yet documented all the final values. This will force me to do so.
