Veracity???
I went to a local shop in Brea, CA and saw some amps that look very much like a K*M*T It had a head shell in the same high end wood traditition. I fired one up, but in all honesty, my DIY Express sounded better. Any one heard of Veracity Amps before? What's the scoop?

Make that 5,001.
Which do you prefer, the original Kinks version of "You Really Got Me" or EVH's cover? 'Cuz I like Eddie Van's better than the original.
Next question, would Eddie's version get him kicked off "American Idol"?!
Next question, stick this thing next to a Komet. You get to keep whatever you grab first. Do ya feel lucky, punk? Do ya?!
From Veracity's site: "The Veracity(tm) amp is not intended as a "bedroom" or a "practice" amp. (truncated) This amp is intended for live performance situations."
Back to that cabinet again. I prefer that my gigging amps have a cabinet I can take on the road. And a handle.
Next comment, adjustable bias and switchable voltage. Just my opinion but I think we should get it straight who's the musician and who's the tech. Mix 'em up and you'll get in trouble. I'm all for dictatorship (with me in charge of course. Don't worry, I'll be a benevolent dicktator.
). People are too stupid to make their own choices. Tell them they can swap output tubes, amp comes back with a tube with a busted reference pin, an oversized fuse and a zorched PT.
Customer adjustable bias... look, make a f'ckin decision. Voice the amp where you think it sounds good, set it and leave it. Give your customers something to adjust and it will come back mis-adjusted. There's a way to set this thing up for a default setting for bias, I'm not seein' it.

O.k., look... if you can't be great at least be original. 'Cuz to my eyes that Kabinet looKs liKe a Klone of a Komet.CaseyJones wrote:I despise the part of this biz that's all about the hype, if you're walkin' around sayin' "I'm great, I'm great, I'm f'ckin' great" you damn well better be great.

Looks to me like some one is seriously baiting Komet into taking legal action.
It also sounds very buzzy and had some non-musical squeals happening.

First off, was it being marketed as a TW in the first place? Secondly, if it was, you have a REAL TW and you actually brought it to the music store to do a direct comparison? I smell B.S. ?.unless you have a real wreck compared side by side, please shut the F-up ?most clones I?ve personally listened to (especially on this forum) sound pretty damn good when compared to Glenn?s REAL TW. Again, I went to the web site and didn't see anything stating ANYTHING about a TW.... guess I'm missing something.

Casey, I grabbed some different pictures of amps from the internet and compiled them for easy reference. Since you?re so incredibly knowledgeable, could you please pick out the ?real? Marshall? How about the ?real? Komet? I don?t get your point ?

So why are you even browsing this forum? Last time I checked, people here don?t make combos. They make TW clones which typically have no handles. You may want to browse forums geared towards combos. Leave the heavy lifting of these amp heads without handles to the men OK?

Look, if it wasn't for originality there wouldn't have been Trainwrecks or Dumbles to begin with. Howard and Ken would have just copied what was already available and that would be that. IMHO originality is dead, maybe original thought is as well. I will admit that many of the good ideas have been done to death already. HOWEVER if you're going to build a copy it might as well be a good copy. If you can make it better than the original (EVH "You Really Got Me") then you have my respect. But you have to earn it. You're not going to earn my respect with half-assed copies. The text doesn't have to say "Komet inspired", the Kabinet is an obvious Kopy of Komet.
I stand by my statment that many people are too stupid to make their own choices. I've been around a while and I've observed an insidious dumbing down of society. Many people KNOW they can't tackle the difficult problems so they turn their free will over to someone who they hope can.
BTW an easy to identify symptom of a lack of intelligence is a lack of a sense of humor.

Just went to the web site ... funny, it doesen't mention the "K" word anywhere....were you a child left behind?

Re: Veracity???
I could easily buy that the stylized V is different enough from the Komet V to say it is inspired by the name Veracity. Think it's pretty cool looking myself. However, why did they have to copy the incut for the control panel, it is -Exactly- the same as the Komet. Not an easy cut to make either.stink wrote:Quote:

It's obvious the designer/builder is familiar with the Trainwreck/Komet line, whether they mention it or not. Not a bad thing in my book, but it exists. The bias setup and cab is Komet, the controls composition and physical layout are classic Trainwreck. Heck, even tho CJ thinks it shouldn't be done, the 5200 and 6600 OT switching is sooooo near and dear to TW freaks that it cannot be coincidence.
All and all though, people make and sell amps. Unless it's patented and there is no mention of Trademarked names, it happens.

Re: Veracity???
Just what I said. The text on the website doesn't say "Komet", that would be an obvious tip-off that the styling was a Komet rip. You must think so because you have a pic of a Komet next to it. Or is that a klone of a klone and therefore a double negative and NOT a Komet?stink wrote:Quote:

And... your obvious lack of a sense of humor makes you the child left behind. People like you need people like me to spell it out for you.

Notice the Divided by 13 amp in the top left corner? CJ, you're just a "Richard Head" .... albeit your ignorance IS entertaining.

True story... I grew up on a farm. So I know bullshit when I see it. And... all you bring to the table is bullshit. NOW I may be a dickhead but I know a thing or two about tube circuits. When you have something other than bullshit to bring to the table let me know.
Until then... Over and out!
