Ampdoc,
Is the Shaka 5 closer to the Zen than the 4? Any other hints you can give?

Fulltone OCD
I just ran my OCD through my DLite and its very nice indeed. The Dlite handles this pedal in a unique way.

Re: Umble pedal?
the zen has been traced on another forums. Will give you clues...similar to son of screamer: no input buffer, ts cliping, but with mosfets/diodes, assymetrical, voice is via neg feedback loop to ground, rat type tone control, output buffer. cook your own from this recipe, you'll never regret, and will not be a clone.
Re: Umble pedal?
Thanks a lot swt, that exactly the type info I needed. I think I'm pretty close already thanks to previous hints, but your post has helped confirm a few things and push me slightly closer. I have some parts on the way, and I'll let you guys know how my version turns out.

No disrespect, but PLEASE REMOVE - as the ZD is an original pedal and is how A. Hermida makes his living. There's already other manufacturers cloning his designs, and he doesn't need more.

Actually the FET / diode clipping is nothing new and was available in public domain before the Zen pedal was ever available. One of the O'Conner books mentions the circuit, Peavey Patent, etc.No disrespect, but PLEASE REMOVE - as the ZD is an original pedal and is how A. Hermida makes his living

Try this link: No big deal since it's a simple circuit, but note the ref designators do not match the schematic vs. layout.

I realize its hypocritical of me to post what I did, and I've thought about editing it. I guess for me, seeing a friend's design posted here (the member's first post, even), caught me differently.... Why, I'm not totally sure. Now I realize that's my problem, and not yours or anyone else's.
Like I said, I do see your point and agree with you...but I simply don't feel like getting into teh intarweb argument about this.
Apologies abound.
