Seek immediate medical attention if you suddenly go either deaf or blind.
If you put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years time there would be a shortage of sand.

The new ones are junk compared to the old ones. I'll take vintage Delta/Rockwell over just about anything short of Northfield. Vintage DeWalt is nice, too.
We have a vintage Delta shaper that's been living in a corner, we started it back up the other day. It's supposed to be a 3500 rpm motor geared up to 5500 rpm but it looks like the spindle is turning at around 850... bummer. Good thing we have a shaper on our Robland combo machine.

How old? Does the motor say "repulsion-induction" with no capacitor? If that's the case you'll need to clean the brushes and sliprings. If it has a cap or two, Granger has every cap every made for a reasonable price.

The old table saws and such were built better for sure, but the technology in some of the new stuff makes things idiot proof and allows for more accuracy with things like laser guides.
