The bigger the drill, the slower the speed generally. Having said that, the most important thing is that the cutting edge of the drill not "slip" while turning. By that I mean that it be cutting and making chips the whole time it's against the surface to be cut.

Slipping causes heat, and heat distorts and "rolls over" the cutting edge. Thus distroying the drill.

And a handy amp chassis cradle is nice for working on them.

Cap bleeder

You will want to make up a cap discharge tool. Alligator clips with heavy hooded rubber clips. Put a couple of 10w 500 ohm resistors in series between the clips. Shrink tube the whole deal. work great and gives you piece of mind.
I have also found that a florescent work light that has a large magnifier built into it has been very useful. Amp cradle a must. Two types of solder. 60/40 and 67/37. Chop sticks. Really good quality wire strippers for Teflon wire.
