Ampwares? good for parts?
I oredered some parts from ampwares a few weeks ago and havent received anything yet. I called them and the mailbox is full etc. Also theres no contact email for them directly. Have any of you guys used them before? What should I do. I really want to tweak this amp out and I need the parts. Any past experiences with them..good or bad? Who is better to buy from?
Thanks Patrick
Thanks Patrick

Ooooh, you should have checked before you ordered from them.
They have a really bad reputation for shipping and communication.
I don't know how they stay in business.........

You're kiddin', right? If not you have to be the last person on Planet Earth who hasn't gotten the word that Ampwares sucks when it comes to communication and prompt shipping. Just do a search and weep...
This is a screwy time of year for anyone in the amp parts biz anyway. Everyone is finishin' up projects and they find they're that last little part short, multiply that by a hundred or a thousand and you'll get an idea of what the major vendors are up against this time of year. Then factor in that everyone in North America is gettin' income tax returns and "economic stimulus checks", where do you suppose they're spendin' that money? Hint: If I get a windfall I buy amp stuff.

SHHHhhhh!! Let's do the ostrich impersonation and pretend that the bottomfeeders aren't just about invisible at this point becuase they're so far down they're hidden in the muck. Although come to think of it if I stuck my head in the mud I might just see a bottomfeeder or two...Allynmey wrote:No....they aren't!
Trust me, Tubes 'n' More, BBQ Boy and Moho are doin' just fine.
Here's the deal... if you're American you should buy American, that means send Allyn some dough and he'll treat ya right. Or you can cry me a river, say you can't afford the good stuff and buy the imported garbage. Keep your dollars here and we'll all be better off for it. 'Nuff said!

I have been using Allynmey..but I didnt see the parts I needed in his stock so I looked elsewhere. Should I just cancel the order and start over? Man this sucks..Thanks for the reply everyone..will I get my stuff at all?
Re: Ampwares? good for parts?
Even after hearing all the talk about Ampwares, I ordered something from them I found NOWHERE else. I placed my order and then forgot about it. 3-4 weeks later, my order showed up.guitarsnguns04 wrote: ...will I get my stuff at all?
Why it should take that long nowadays I don't know

Same here I needed grounding lugs that AFAIK only Ampwares has but being aware of their reputation I used a credit card and prepared to do battle if the order didn't arrive in a reasonable amount of time.. I consider myself lucky to get my order in two weeks judging from all the horror stories..drhulsey wrote:Even after hearing all the talk about Ampwares, I ordered something from them I found NOWHERE else. I actually checked my print out today and it has been 2 week today. They are about 6 hours away from home so I guess I was hoping for a little qucker delivery. They advertise that most orders ship out in 24-36 hours. I guess my order was an exception. In any event I am hopeful and I did pay with a credit card so....I will let you all know when and if I get the goods.

I ordered a cab from them.
They promised 6-8 weeks.
The answering machine was always full and NO email response.
After 12 weeks I cancelled.

Ditto here.... Mark just doesn't seem to give a shit... I called him after about a month, and all I got was a bunch of excuses.... he wasn't even very polite either.
So, I just won't support his business... I'll find it some where. Regarding the grounding lugs, I had to do just that.... and besides, he buys them SOMEWHERE.... we just gotta find out WHERE!!

Post a pic of the part you need. That way we can cross reference it and our Amp Garage insiders can decide whether they want to stock it or not.Ron Worley wrote:So, I just won't support his business... I'll find it some where. Re: Ampwares? good for parts?
We need a sticky posted with the suppliers to beware of. Nothing harsh but maybe a few testimonials so that people get the picture. Ampwares is the one I have heard about the most, but have no personal experience with (due to the bad press, I stayed away)
Or coming at it another way, there could be a sticky of recommended suppliers. If you don't see Ampwares on it then you know to do some searching or ask ....
