Thanks RiffRaff. Three things; the weight, the SM-57 script is silk screened, and the XLR connection is smooth without a ridge.

Great stuff!

Shhhhhhhhh ! I'm Wispering this, Don't tell anyone this secret, but everything is being made in Asia now ! i hate to be the one to break this to you, but all your Fav toy's will now come from oversea's with lead contaminated paint, at no extra charge !
all jokeing aside, My friend's a distributor for music gear, he checked on an order friday from a manufactor in Michigan, he was told the order was late being filled because the boat was late coming in ! his responce was : when did you start shipping across Lake Michigan , LOL !
he was told the new procedure, the part's are being made in Asia and shipped here where it's assembled, so call it fake, a rippoff, are whatever,
This country is full a stuff from guitar's, effects, toy's, you name it, it's here !

LR, I did'nt research it, so I can't say, I did see the first fake Gibson guitars here in Tx. and did research this, what i called a fake was being made for Gibson, it was also being sold for a lot less on the Asian Ebay,Paylessguitars.com, if you think your being Duped, just go on the Asian Ebay, if you see your product for sale on Ebay, chance's are, somebody from here is having them to mass produce the thing, the guitars were great buy's, a gold top shipped here for $350, i did notice the Pickup's were of cheap quality, but the finish and playability of it was great,
Make's you wonder though ?

I'm sure that my two sm-57s that I got on ebay about 6 months ago are both fakes. I suspected it at the time when I saw the lettering was a sticker.
I tried the mic out originally as a vocal mic and was less than impressed with the sound, before using it exclusively for instrument miking.
The link on the page to the sound clip comparison didn't work anymore, so I am interested to hear what a real sm-57 should sound like.
Well, I feel ripped off.
