+1. My favorite too! I built a clone 20 watter - 2061X - several years ago. I added a one-wire mod to the preamp. Doesn't really need it. Playing through a 4 x 10" cab w/Emi Ramrods. A straight up rocker as it is.The 2061 has become hands down my favorite amp. It gets the lion's share of my play time.

I'd lean towards a 4xEl84, fixed bias power amp with presence and resonance controls. Use a good Marshall style 50W OPT, hammond 290LX power tx, 3H choke... TMB tone stack... heck just build a low voltage JMP with 4xel84 at this point!
