I may never do a post power amp based on a pair 300b , using Surface as a pre-amp , as what was on my mind when I first captured the CM concept.WhopperPlate wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 3:38 pm Sound of silence . Is that a reference to what will never be posted ?
I may, however, do a post power amp, based on a pair of 6L6 , which would not require a CM filament power supply.
Surface does not use the CM DC power filter, nor would a super-scaling 6L6 post power amp.
I am sure this answer may not be taken in the correct way, so I leave it at that....... ... . . . . .. ... ... ....

FWIW, LED bias was discussed on the AX84 forum at least as early as 2003

Also described in Morgan Jones' Valve Amplifiers, but I don't know from what edition and the date it first appeared.pullshocks wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 10:27 pm FWIW, LED bias was discussed on the AX84 forum at least as early as 2003
