Express Power Switch

Post by Ron Worley »

I've noticed that on several Express layout graphics (including Nik's), the power switch has 6 tabs on it, indicating a DPDT switch.

Looking at the wires in the Francesca pics, the schematics and some common sense, it seems to me that it should infact be a DPST switch.

Am I smoking crack here??? See attached pic...

In the same pic I notice that KF used some really light gauge wire for the pilot light- any clues about what gauge?

Thanks in advance!

It's probably heresy here, but IMO, you can skip the varistor and use a SPST like every other amp and only you'd know. Mine has a SPST. Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone. As I understand it, the varistor is there for surge protection.

You can probably use just about anything on a pilot. I'd guess 22 or 24 ga would work just fine. It's a tiny bulb. What could it draw? 1W? I use 20 ga solid because that's what I wire filaments with and it's on that circuit.
