Anybody buy from them?
I'm thinking about venturing into the NOS world but don't really have a clue where to buy from or what issues might be involved with say, buying a used pair verses a NOS pair.
It's a little scary thinking about spending over $100 for a pair of 6L6GC's that may or may not last or sound good in my amp.
Money is an issue so it's not like I could buy a pair that turn out to be garbage without a care.
And possibly a NOS 12ax7 for V1 to complete the package.
This would be for my D'Lite 44 that has be tweaked to my ears to sound pretty darn good so far even with the JJ's in it.
I know that the RCA Blackplates seem to be the holy grail of 6L6 tubes and I'm not sure I would spend the kind of money these demand but, something like a GE or JAN Phillips might be alright.
Thoughts?
Guidelines?
Thanks, Tom

You should ask Terry Killgore, aka Sgt Overdrive, aka Tube Tramp.
Doug's Tubes is also a good vendor...don't know if he has NOS.

+1 for Terry/Sarge/TubeTramp. He's cranky, nigh on impossible to comprehend, hasn't found the punctuation buttons on the keyboard yet, but knows his tubes and delivers the goods.
If you want something more online retail-styled then I've had good experiences with www.tubemonger.com, but they can be pretty costly sometimes. They often have specials on eBay.

How does one get in touch with Sarge?
Yes I was looking at The Tube Monger yesterday.
Are the NOS RFT 12ax7's any good?

Re: Tubeworld?
I've bought from Tubeworld, you've nothing to worry about, good service and good tubes. KCA wanted a ridiculous price to match a tube I was willing to send to find a compatible pair, sorry Mike, I've left the building.

If you find out that he has any RFTs then let me know as I wouldn't mind getting some for my Jubilee.

Re: Tubeworld?
TubeWorld is a first class supplier of REAL (not re-stamped) vintage and NOS tubes.
Check their inventory carefully. I've bought tubes from them that were
priced near, or in some cases, below the price being asked for newly manufactured tubes.
The guy must have a time-machine. How the hell else can he keep such an amazing supply of NOS tubes from the 1940's and up?
Maybe I can give him a few grand, and get him to pick me up a couple of '59 Bursts the next time he goes back........................
