I am looking for an Overdrive Special Preamp I could use in the loop of an existing amp.
WOuld be interested in either a full build, a Kit or even a detailed plan...

Re: ODS preamp build anyone ?
Hi, using the search function got me different results.
One of them: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=30625
For ready build options you could post in the sale section.

Re: ODS preamp build anyone ?
Many moons ago I built this: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... c+hrm+both
It was a project that shouldn't have worked and it worked great. At the time I had a friend's Ampeg VT22 for a complete restoration so that was the guinea pig. That amp went back to its owner. In one of my periodic gear purges, it and my version of #102 were sold so it was never tested beyond making sure it did what I hoped.
I had the chassis laser-cut at a local CNC shop. That was the only component over a hundred bucks. I don't know if this answers your question but, at least in this application, it has been tried. FWIW, Skip
PS I still have all the DXF machine blueprints and exact-sized PCB etching templates if you want them. sh
