Has anyone tried to use the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe reverb/loop in an ODS-build?
I have translated a Fender Super60 to an ODS#124 style amp on the original pcb. Then there already are a similar reverb and loop circuit as on the HRD that I have tried to use, but I can't get it to work ok. I think the signal loss is too big and it feels like the amp doesn't have the full power. I have changed the Master volume to 100k like it's in the HRD otherwise there will be no reverb. The reverb/loop is inserted after the master but before the PI like it was on the original Super60 and where it is on the ODS.
Does anyone know what more I have to change or maybe the HRD circuit is better in this place?
I can't find out why it does not work in the ODS when it worked in the Super 60.
Attatch The Super60 reverb/loop and amp schematics and HRD reverb/loop
Thanks!

Re: Fender HRD reverb in ODS?
The fender HRD and BD both use solid state preamp opamps to drive the reverb tank, so the impedance of the tank is likely way off from being able to use a direct tube type...
To be able to do it, you'd need to either rebuild the solid state preamp on a separate small board that could perform the send and return portions of that reverb section, OR you'd need to get the right kind of impedance matching transformer for that tank OR you'd need to implement it using a new tank. You'd need a new triode to do that, and it's not super clear if the heater windings or the main B+ on these amps could handle that.
So there's no easy way to say yes, and no is never an option (:D), just whether or not it's worth all that extra effort.
I personally think it's not... just add a reverb pedal into the effects loop and have a much better experience imho.

Thank you.
My intension was, if possibly, to tweak the ic-driven reverb circuit thats on the Super60's pcb. I've read that somebody have done that with the HRD ciruit which is almost the same as in the Super60 but with some differente values. The tank is from the Super60 so it's impedance is not for tube drive stage, it's 800 ohm.
Well I have been thinking about using a reveb pedal in the loop. But do I not need the buffers then or it works just as well without the buffers?

Re: Fender HRD reverb in ODS?
I wouldn't know for sure, the only way I could say for sure is to get either a buffer pedal and put it in the loop and see if it changes the tone significantly or not. If not then you don't need one. If you don't have a buffer pedal, many pedals have one in them now, so you could see if any of yours have a buffer...

I see if I get some more answers before I try that. I have some buffers but no reverb pedal.
