Funk chassis build started

I got my Funk chassis the other day,( Very nice quality stuff by the way!) and am in the process of building it. I pretty much have the main board done and have got my HRM board done. ( However I still havent figured out where the name HRM came from). Now Im working on the rectifier board, I notice in Funks pictures he has capacitors paralelled with each of the diodes, I don't see this in any of the prints. What are they? Also there seem to be many different schemes for powering the relays, Im building a 50 watt version using Bassman transformers that have a 5volt winding, will this work to power the relays Using a bridge rectifier?

The caps (usually .002 IKV disc caps) were used in some Fender models too, they protect the diodes from transient spikes. If you use the newer ultra fast high speed diode types they are not needed.
I didn't know you could get a Bassman PT with 5V (rectifier) taps. There are numerous doubler supplies on this Forum to use with them and they will power your relays just fine.

Check out the TP40D. I bought one to use in a non-HRM. Quite nice. Made by Marvel of Chicago.

The transformer is what would be used in a tweed Bassman ,that used a rectifier tube, also used in the Bandmaster.

I have one of these at home and was wondering if the voltages would work alright for a non HRM. A little high?

I am happy with my non HRM with this transformer. The B+ is around 465vdc. I don't know what the good sounding range is though.

The plates are about 480. I'm running EL34s I've brought everything else in line with the dropping string. I'm very pleased with it.

i believe that the HRM term is from Dumble (could be wrong)

Hot Rubber Monkey is the name of the internal tone stack.

Be careful with Bassman Iron, it may not fit the trannie cutout, you won't hurt anything using a 100W PT. A high power twin trannie will have both the right size and 5v winding.

My relay supply board is set up like this:

Full wave bridge rectifier(4x1N4007) 1000uf@35V, 5/6Vregulator(on terminal strip), 1000uf@35V.
