Dumble overdrive use question

Post by stephenl »

I've never played a Dumble, clone, or variant.

Do any Dumble "ODS" players play with the overdrive circuit just set for edge of breakup and then push it with a pedal or just manipulate the guitar volume? Is this even do-able.

I want to build something Dumble-ish - trying to decide with/without OD circuit...

I would definitely include the OD as it gives you a little more flexibility.

It all depends on what you are trying to do. For me, I used to have a large pedal board with a bunch of pedals to swap in and out. Now, I run direct into the amp and couldn't be happier. The ODS is a very versatile amp. It's not for everyone, but if you are starting down this path, I would definitely include it.
