ODS #0052

Jobo has taken delivery of ODS #0052 from the original owner. He posted some pics on Insta, the original paperwork too!
Ratio added on the back. Wonder if this was done later?

the external trigger (what he calls it) was sort of random AFAIK. You see one here on the back of #075 (Ferris amp)
a "transition generation ODS Custom voiced by Alexander at the time again AFAIK It appears to have the same knob as 052

It looks like the effects out feature was sacrificed to make room for the trigger pot

#0121 (Todd Sharp) also has the external trigger as well. those are the only 2 off the top of my head

Sorry, I meant if the Ratio control was originally built in the amp or whether the amp was later serviced by HAD and then installed.
In this thread it is mentioned that #0075, (Steve Ferris amp) was the first amp with the Ratio control.

“Ratio” control with a different knob. "Effects Loop" = stereo jack (green/white duct tape):

Aaron the Receipt you posted shows delivery date of #052 being 8/3/1979. Ferris was born 1981. The Ferris amp was the 1st amp to receive the Ratio control, So it would of had to have been done after right?
Then you can wonder if #052 got the same (transition model)plethora of upgrades as #075 (internal trigger, classic stack, etc.. listed below) when he added the "Ratio control" on the rear later?

So the modifications to the Ferris amp was the birthplace of the high plate design and the classic stack So then it would be safe to assume then Steve was not completely satisfied with his earlier generation O.D.S to recommend and perform such radical changes to his amp?

If I understand correctly what Steve Farris is saying about it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB69p6lkSRI, then he only had two Overdrive Special amps, the well-known combo (# 75) and a head.

AFAIR Alexander Dumble said in his 1987 interview with Steven Rosen (published in full length in “A Dumble Book by Jesse Schwarz”) that the head had already been ordered at the time of this interview and was already in progress. Regarding the combo (# 75), the item description on eBay said: "Built in 1981": https://thesubjectmatter.com/dumblearchive.html

I don't know more about the 2nd generation ODS chassis, the photo of which I showed in my previous post as an example of a 2nd generation ODS chassis with many modifications, than what can be seen in this photo.

So I don't know whether your assumptions quoted above are correct or not.

Judging by the mods on the 2nd gen amp you posted many of the same mods were listed earlier and on the #075 Ferris post we discussed about years ago. Some of them are
1.Converted to high plate
2.q-line resistors (a few Phiers)
3.Ratio control on the back (controls the vol.of Overdrive)
4. RGU 59 coax (if it's a 2nd generation)
5. Different OD entrance network
6.Classic tone stack
7.Snubbers V2a/b
8.220k/500pF grid resistor V1b
9.180K grid resistor V2b
10.Ceramic treble cap/XF5
11.P.I Balance control
12.LNFB V1B

Here are 12 things I noticed right off the top ( there may be a few I am missing). Either way this is considered a major overhaul and even possibly a re-build and a completely new design concept. 4th Generation O.D.S Using #075 as a Prototype specimen. (if it was indeed the 1st) Generally if I am completely happy with a guitar amp I do not have it overhauled with a new design concept. But that's me
