Build Observations

Post by bryankloos »

Hey Guys,

I hope everyone is well.
I'm mostly a fender guy, but like a kid in the candy store, I've been poking around here a bit lately.
Needless to say, my next build will be from this side of the forum.

Anyhow, I've noticed that on the bumble builds, there is a sheet of what looks like unfinished metal inside the chassis at the output tubes.
What is this strange metal, and what is its purpose?

Sorry to be the newb, with the newb question. I'm trying to learn.

Thanks!

Hello !

That chassis Is aluminium power coated in black.

Due to the power coating process being an insulator there are places non coated (especially at the power tubes locations like you mentioned) so the grounds could make a good contact to the bare chassis itself.

Not actually a metal sheet but rather an uncoated part for better contact (the chassis act as a ground).

Hi Bryan,

Some chassis, like the ones from Amplified Nation, are fully powdercoated. Since it is a bitch to remove this coating for ground points, the chassis is on certain points covered to prevent the coating merge with the chassis layer.
So it is bare aluminium what you see.

Best, Erwin
