You will always have pop when switching cathode resistors, one for another with a mechanical switch. You should try the J175 P-Channel switch as they work great for silent cathode resistor and capacitor switching, when you have the larger value cathode resistor always in circuit and switching in another resistor in parallel to change its value. Switching in a capacitor with a J175 requires no other capacitor in circuit. Capacitors will switch silently with normal switches as long at there is a 47k - 100k resistor in series with the capacitor to ground, so it remains slightly charged before you short the resistor with the switch.
