Transformers new build 102

Post by artguitar »

Hi everyone, I'm new around here.
I am planning the realization of a clone 102 (layout of T.Albany) and I am trying to recover the parts for assembly. I would like some advice from you if these transformers can be valid and if someone has already used them.

thanks

Hi Luca,

A friend of mine used these transformers in his build, they are fine!

But, beware that the 102 layout shows a FWB rectifier arrangement, and the PT linked above is designed for FW (as are most Fender Twin/Showman PT's).

In this case how should I connect with the two 60v wires of the bias?

Just out of curiosity: aren't those inMADout transformers?

Here is a modification to FW rectifier for the use of a Twin/Showman PT. Just ground the other side of the 60V winding with the red/yel CT if it is separate.

Ciao, if you are in Italy I'd recommend going to InMadOut for your transformers. TAG member Marcus Cliffe has used them several times and has nothing but good things to say about them. NB, as I recall the cutout and bolt pattern don't match the Fender part dimensions, though.

The Tube Town transformer's bolt pattern is 76* x 95, or 2.99" x 3.74", where Fender replacements are 3.00" x 3.75". Close enough.

*in the web catalog listing it's 86 x 95.

I'm pretty sure InMadOut make transformers for tubetown.

If you are going direct get them to add a secondary for your relays so you don't have to add another transformer, just tell them what voltage you want.

Mention the hole dimensions of your chassis too.
