Partridge transformers specifications ?

Post by CB Amp »

Hello,

I'm looking for the specs of some Partridge transformers. I have a set of PT, OT and choke from a Dan Armstrong 60 head, but I can't find anything about them.
PT is TH2025.
OT is TG9686.
Choke is TH9688.
I'm ok with the PT (2x440VAC, 2x3.15VAC), but I'd like to know the primary impedance of the OT and the inductance of the choke.
There should be some catalogs or datasheets of the Partridge production, but nothing on the web (to my knowledge). Do anyone has it ? Or do you know these trannies ?

Thank you,
Cyril.

Output Transformer is Raa of 4K to suit a pair of EL34 according to this:

It's worth appreciating that the test results in that eBay item could have up to at least +/-25% error in the primary PP impedance, because the tests were done with quite a low signal voltage, and the meters have subsequently large accuracy tolerance (especially the Benning MM1). The test also appears to have place 1V across PP winding rather than to apply it across a P-B+ winding, and measure the voltage on the other P-B+ winding.

Raa seems to be 3,5k on a hiwatt?

Sorry, I blew it in regards to digging out that info last night !
It's on my list now so I will not forget.

Thanks Ian, and thanks to you all.
I found the tests result, but as you stated trobbins, I'm a bit puzzled with the measurements. I should do it myself, but I lack time.

And I saw that the TH9688 choke was used in 200W Marshall, such as "The Pig". I don't get any measurement with my capacitance meter (cheap one), but which goes to 20H.
The amp was working, so it would be more than that ?

The TG9686 output trans was in an amp given for 60W. I wanted to build a push of KT88 with 60/80W of power. So I wonder how much power it can handle. Any guess ?

I wouldn't have much confidence in such a meter for identifying inductance at a relatively significant level of dc current.
There are ways to do that measurement, but you need a simple rig and ac supply and ok meter.

Thanks for the links, but it's about the TG6556, used on Hiwatt DR504. Or did I miss something ?...
