I did have that same thought but that would mean attaching them to the cap leads not the eyelets for removal...…..I have plenty of 2k2 's

You could have done two at the same time almost as fast as just one and shared one.. saving me a lot of trouble, because building one instead of zero isn't faster than.. I have confused myself and it's probably your fault.

It really makes sense that you would build my amps because you are several time zones before me.. the logic in it is as artful as I am lazy. A small price to pay for living in the future. Get right on that! Thanks!

Right then.


Finished the wiring so checked for shorts with the light bulb limiter, all good, voltages where they supposed to be.

Filled her with valves and fired up.

All voltages are where they should be but I've got ZERO sound, nothing no hiss/hum. Plugging into the poweramp input on the return jacks I have good clear sound. All voltages are where they should be across the board with valves in.

I hear no relay noise when flicking the manual to pedal on the rear of the amp. I've got 5v relays but my 5v 7805 regulator is sending 6v to them, is that OK? I'm sure this must be a wiring issue and probably, the bane of my life, relays.

Any thought's on where to start trouble shooting? relays are a pig to work on once they're in with solid core wire, it's tight in there.

some relay wiring faults now rectified I have sound, clean is great, PAB is working but no OD.

is the OD relay jumpered?

the top middle pin to bottom right? or is that the clean out going to the top middle pin only? schematic looks like it's connected to two places.

I've tried a jumper but no joy. will take another look after I've walked the dog.

Clean sounds great.

Yes, I've got them connected now and I'm pretty sure it's now wired correctly but no overdrive at all. Obviously the relay is working as it cuts the sound when engaged. I'm doing some continuity testing on the bench here, should the OD signal be going to ground when the amp is unpowered?

if I crocodile clip across the clean out to the OD will that bypass the relay safely so at least I know the OD is OK?

Input - relay to 220K
